A sculpted acrylic disc that holds the ceiling like weather.
About this piece
Roughly 30 inches across and under 10 inches deep, the Cumulus is a single shaped acrylic disc that catches and diffuses an integrated LED into a soft, edgeless plane of light. Black above, white-translucent below — from below, it reads as a single luminous cloud. From the side, the silhouette is graphic and modern.
Construction
The shell is solid acrylic, machined and polished rather than molded, which is why the bottom edge stays clean and the light spreads without hot spots. At 9 pounds the fixture is light enough for any junction-box install without reinforcement.
Light
Integrated LED at 4000 Kelvin and 36 watts — a neutral-white temperature that reads bright and modern, neither the warm amber of incandescent nor the cold blue of a commercial fluorescent. Bulb is not user-replaceable; the LED is rated for ~50,000 hours of normal use. Not dimmable on this model.
Where it lives
The 78-inch cord is generous, enough for ceilings to 12 feet at most install heights. Best in modern rooms with quiet finishes — open kitchens, bedrooms, low-ceiling living rooms where you want light without sculpture. Pairs well with mid-century architecture and with contemporary builds; works less well in traditional or transitional rooms where the simplicity will read incomplete.
Rated for residential use only. Commercial installation voids the Bethel International warranty — see the warranty page.
Not dimmable. Bethel rates this fixture as non-dimmable; installing it on a dimmer circuit can cause buzzing, flicker, or premature LED failure and is outside the manufacturer's spec.
